The Luminarie Collection: oil for party favors, ideal for those celebrating in Puglia.

La Collezione Luminarie: olio per bomboniere ideale per chi festeggia in Puglia
If you're choosing a suitable oil for wedding favors from our collections to honor your guests, your eye may have fallen on the Luminarie Collection.

Inside, a packaging pervaded by the same spirit, stands out in four unique bottles:

  • Party,

  • Fanova,

  • Orchestra and

  • Overview.

What they have in common is their white color, punctuated by the typical colors of Christmas lights. Bathing the air in light and color, Christmas lights are part of the collective imagination of those who, growing up in the South, have always associated these luminous decorations with the arrival of village festivals. Their luminous and graceful packaging is designed to evoke our folk festivals and the spirit that pervades them. On those occasions, the white Apulian stone is colored with a thousand lights.

Almost all of our packaging is inspired by Puglia because our goal is to bring much more than a high-quality product into your home. We want to intrigue the future custodians of our packaging and tell them a story.

We definitely recommend the Mediterranea and Opera Collections because they are inspired by physical places in our beloved Puglia, but it is with Luminarie that you can relive local popular traditions and the spirit that pervades them .

The lights herald the arrival of a collective ritual that repeats itself cyclically. They alert the community that it's time to celebrate. They represent the bond with the land to which that ritual belongs, making it shine with a new light.

Our bottle of Fanova extra virgin olive oil

When creating the bottles for the Luminarie Collection, we took inspiration from various elements typical of local folk festivals.

In addition to dedicating one to the broader concept of Festa , we created one with a specific celebration in mind: the Fanova bottle. As the name of the package suggests, we are referring to the Festa delle Fanòve in nearby Castellana Grotte.

Even if its name seems unrelated to our activity, it is a celebration closely linked to olive oil.

According to religious tradition, in fact, the oil used to light the votive lamp placed at the foot of the sacred effigy of the Madonna della Vetrana was said to have a curative effect against the plague in 1691.

In memory of that miracle, the Feast of Fanòve encourages the faithful to collect oil from various olive presses in the area. This is how they collect the oil to fuel the lamp that once saved the city from the terrible plague.

Furthermore, during the night of January 11th, more than 100 piles of wood are scattered throughout the town, spreading warmth and light. All this is surrounded by a cordial atmosphere, with folk songs and the sharing of culinary traditions.

Bottles of Oil as Party Favors: Orchestra and Overview

In many Apulian towns, a small orchestra also performs inside the traditional sound boxes, a structure that, when decorated for the occasion, contributes with the lights to express the festive atmosphere.

Furthermore, almost all local folk festivals are accompanied by the installation of various types of rides and attractions. For this reason, we decided to pay homage to the most historic Ferris wheel.

This is a rather old attraction. It was the American engineer George Ferris who first designed it in Chicago in 1893 (it is in fact known in English-speaking countries as the "Ferris Wheel").

According to the Historical Museum of the Carousel , in reality, the true ancestor of the Ferris wheel was the Russian Vertical Swing, a ritual game moved by hand by three men, of which there is a depiction dating back to the St. Petersburg Fair in 1804.

According to popular belief at the time, the higher the farmers climbed with the wheel, the more abundant the harvest would be.
